New YA Titles

Here are some new additions to the YA collection. Search the titles to find out more about them and if they are available. Happy Vacation Reading!!

1. If you are a Stephen King fan, you should be interested in this new biography (and you’ll find it in the biography section with a purple dot on the spine). Dark dreams: the story of Stephen King, by Nancy Whitelaw. It’s a short read, with photographs included.
2. Copper Sun, by Sharon Draper is about a 15-year-old Ashanti girl, slave trade, and plantation life. If you liked Julius Lester’s Day of Tears, then you’ll enjoy this book as well. And if you’re studying this era of American history in school, then read this to get another perspective.
3. Ithaka, by Adele Geras is a follow-up to Troy. If you are a fan of Greek mythology you’d want to read both of these works.
4. No Right Turn, by Terry Trueman is about a 16-year-old boy whose father committed suicide three years ago. It’s also about a vintage Corvette, romance, hurt, and… healing.
5. And yet another tale about a 16-year-old boy is found in a book called Theories of Relativity, by Barbara Haworth-Attard. It is a moving story about homelessness, staying alive on the streets, and yes, physics.
